    What's new???
    Friday, February 29, 2008
What's new with me? Not much actually..People are probably wondering where the hell am I?..Well,on a typical Saturday I usually stay home. I'm a home buddy so to speak, considering that I live about 7 kilometers from town, I find myself lazy to take the almost 1 hour trip just to find something to do. I used to love going out, but come to think of it..I'm usually in my room during a Saturday..(during the daytime that is..hehehe). I love going out at night..i don't know why. But there's something about the dark sky that seems so appealing to me. I'm no vampire, that's for sure. I guess I'm a nocturnal person. Besides, I love sulking alone at home when the parents aren't around. When my mom goes home after her 8 hour office work, that's when i disappear and go out of the house. So much for Saturdays....

    Panagbenga 2008..The Float Parade
    Sunday, February 24, 2008
The "Panagbenga" is a much-awaited festival here in Baguio City. It is celebrated every February, for the whole month. The year 2008 is it's 13th year in existence. Tourists from all over the country, come up to Baguio just to watch the Street Dancing and Floral Float Parade. Just this morning, the float parade was scheduled to start at 8:00 a.m. Despite the rain, which amusingly, decided to pour on this day, the parade started right on schedule. While I could have traveled 7 kilometers from where I lived and braved the crowd forming in Session Road, one of Baguio's main streets, in anticipation for this event, I decided to stay home. I was not afforded the luxury of being given a press id(unlike before when a few friends of mine had connections to get hold of such), and neither was I a participant in the parade(I remember joining way back in college, I was wearing a black shirt and I had a Pitbull in tow--we were representing a pitbull club then). Glued in front of the television, I watched the crowd as they waited for the parade to start. Like any other event, like they say, come hell or hight water, in this case, come rain and slippery asphalt roads, the show must go on! And so it did!

I hope I could be able to post more pics..it's kinda hard to upload them all..just watch out for an update :)

My eyes are playing tricks on me..
I cannot for the life of me believe what I was seeing on my laptop screen. You see, my Mozilla Firefox browser has a built-in page rank display. I don't mean to sound like I'm bragging(coz I'm not--this is just for the sake of sharing an observation), but I know for a fact that my blog has a PR 1 rating. Quite intriguingly, I was staring at a PR 9 rating. I have saved a screen shot of it(which I am evidently having a hard time uploading) for evidence, considering that at the rate I'm blogging, I know that I could never gain a PR 9 rating. Honestly, I'm not a page rank conscious blogger. Please do not get me wrong, I won't be a hypocrite to say that I would not care less if my mere PR 1 rating is taken away(of course that would leave me feeling sad), I wouldn't mind having a higher page rank rating. However, I do believe that a blog develops, grows and maybe matures through time. This entails a lot of hard work--and I don't mean blog hopping for ex-links(no pun intended okay??!!)--rather, I choose to believe that page rank/ratings is a result of good and sensible writing. It is for this reason that i stare in awe and utter disbelief(with my jaw dropped at a certain angle that I might as well be drooling) at what my screen was displaying. Unbelievable!! Can anyone please explain this occurrence to me? Please?

Why Women Are Happier Than Men...
    Saturday, February 23, 2008

As a reply to Ate Juliana's comment on my previous post, I decided to post several reasons as to "Why Women are Happier than Men". Women...

    * ...Don't worry about going bald
    * ...Never have to rearrange their testicles while wearing tight pants
    * ...Never get their sex organs caught in their zippers while drunk
    * ...Don't have to constantly answer "What are you gonna be when you grow
up?" shortly after their third birthday.
    * ...Don't have to run a super-sharp piece of metal over their facial
epidermal layer each and every morning of their adult lives.
    * ...Can bludgeon someone to death with a baseball bat and then get off
scot-free by claiming a "hormonal imbalance"
    * ...Can commit cold-blooded murder and not only get off scot-free, but end
up with a book deal and an appearance on Oprah merely by mentioning "years of
    violent spousal abuse"
    * ...Don't have to go in a pubic women's restroom and worry about some
previous occupant pissing and shitting on the seat, the floor, and the surrounding
    walls.
    * ...ALWAYS outlive their husbands.
    * ...Have a wide variety of commercial, sweet smelling deodorants for their
    sex organ.
    * ...In a moment of anger, can call someone a "cunt" without being exiled and
excommunicated from the community of humankind.
    * ...know exactly what to do when a child is sick.
    * ...don't have a freaky, semi-oedipal relationship with their overbearing
    mothers
    * ...don't ever have to spit
    * ...don't ever have to hold one nostril shut while blowing a huge loogie out
    the other
    * ...have an astute, innate sense of when to change underwear before it
becomes a Petri Dish for bacteria development
    * ...never pull a back muscle screaming at the television during a sports
    event.
    * ...don't have to worry about which family member will inherit and care for
    their collection of baseball caps
    * ...never lose six hours on a Saturday morning watching fishing shows on OLN
    * ...can terminate a bladder emptying event without waiting for 'the shake'
    * ...can tell their doctors anything
    * ...Can simulate a perfect, entire sex act with nothing more than ten idle
    minutes and a zucchini.

    Any violent reactions,whatsoever??!!

    Why men are never depressed...
    Thursday, February 21, 2008
My inability to write anything serious at the moment for fear of having to stay in front of the computer for a long time will definitely prevent me from making any posts out of my own mind. In my effort to keep this blog alive, and maybe just to offer something to my readers, I will again be sharing something from my mailbox.

Women compared to men, seem to be in a depressive state every once in a while. Several instances include the monthly period, PMS (both pre and post) and whatever circumstance that may for one reason or another be a source of depression, very much unlike men who never seem to be depressed.

    Here are some reasons why:

    Men Are Just Happier People--
What do you expect from such simple creatures?
    Your last name stays put.
    The garage is all yours.
Wedding plans take care of themselves.
    Chocolate is just another snack.
    You can be President.
    You can never be pregnant.
You can wear a white T-shirt to a water park.
You can wear NO shirt to a water park.
Car mechanics tell you the truth.
    The world is your urinal.
You never have to drive to another gas station restroom
because this one is just too icky.
You don't have to stop and think of which way to turn a nut on a bolt.
    Same work, more pay.
    Wrinkles add character.
    Wedding dress $5000.
    Tux rental-$100.
People never stare at your chest when you're talking to them.
New shoes don't cut, blister, or mangle your feet.
    One mood all the time!
Phone conversations are over in 30 seconds flat.
    You know stuff about tanks.
A five-day vacation requires only one suitcase.
You can open all your own jars.
You get extra credit for the slightest act of thoughtfulness.
If someone forgets to invite you, he or she can still be your friend.
    Your underwear is $8.95 for a three-pack.
Three pairs of shoes are more than enough.
You almost never have strap problems in public.
You are unable to see wrinkles in your clothes.
Everything on your face stays its original color.
The same hairstyle lasts for years, maybe decades.
You only have to shave your face and neck.
You can play with toys all your life.
One wallet and one pair of shoes -- one color for all seasons.
You can wear shorts no matter how your legs look.
You can 'do' your nails with a pocket knife.
You have freedom of choice concerning growing a mustache.
You can do Christmas shopping for 25 relatives on December 24 in 25 minutes.

    No wonder men are happier.

I would like to ask for your support in making my "ATE MELAI" THE MOST SOCIABLE BLOGGER for week 2 at KUYA JESSIE's blog. The winner of the said contest would have a chance to be featured in his blog for a week thru an ad.

Week 1 wasn't a disappointment because Ate Ellaine won. For this week, I nominated my Ate Melai of http://manilenya.com. Again, help me make Ate Melai "The most sociable blogger" for week 2. Thank you in advance!

I seem to have developed an addiction for blogthings. Remembering my kiddie days, I found myself watching t.v shows, one I especially liked was Sesame Street. Check out my Sesame Street Personality..

Extremely serious and a little eccentric, people find you lovable - even if you don't love them!

You are famous for: Being smart, a total neat freak, and maybe just a little evil

How you life your life: With passion, even if your odd passions (like bottle caps and pigeons) are baffling to others

    My Thursday...
Kuya Jessie asked me how my day and work was..well, here's the answer to your question :)

just in case the video doesn't play..there's always this...

Where is the moment we needed the most
You kick up the leaves and the magic is lost
They tell me your blue skies fade to gray
They tell me your passion's gone away
And I don't need no carryin' on

You stand in the line just to hit a new low
You're faking a smile with the coffee you go
You tell me your life's been way off line
You're falling to pieces every time
And I don't need no carryin' on

Because you had a bad day
    You're taking one down
You sing a sad song just to turn it around
    You say you don't know
    You tell me don't lie
You work at a smile and you go for a ride
    You had a bad day
    The camera don't lie
You're coming back down and you really don't mind
    You had a bad day
    You had a bad day

Will you need a blue sky holiday?
The point is they laugh at what you say
And I don't need no carryin' on

    You had a bad day
    You're taking one down
You sing a sad song just to turn it around
    You say you don't know
    You tell me don't lie
You work at a smile and you go for a ride
    You had a bad day
    The camera don't lie
You're coming back down and you really don't mind
    You had a bad day

    (Oooh.. a holiday..)

Sometimes the system goes on the blink
And the whole thing turns out wrong
You might not make it back and you know
That you could be well oh that strong
    And I'm not wrong

    (yeah...)

So where is the passion when you need it the most
    Oh you and I
You kick up the leaves and the magic is lost

Cause you had a bad day
    You're taking one down
You sing a sad song just to turn it around
    You say you don't know
    You tell me don't lie
You work at a smile and you go for a ride
    You had a bad day
    You've seen what you like
And how does it feel for one more time
    You had a bad day
    You had a bad day

    The most beautiful rainbow...
    Saturday, February 2, 2008

I found this in my email and I wanted to share it with everyone who wasn't in my address book...

As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to ever let you down probably will. You will have your heart broken probably more than once and it's harder every time. You'll break hearts too, so remember how it felt when yours was broken. You'll fight with your best friend. You'll blame a new love for things an old one did. You'll cry because time is passing too fast, and you'll eventually lose someone you love. So take too many pictures, laugh too much, and love like you've never been hurt because every sixty seconds you spend upset is a minute of happiness you'll never get back. Don't be afraid that your life will end, be afraid that it will never begin.

And don't forget that at the end of the rainbow is a pot of gold. Let's appreciate the colors of life..whatever color they are..they just might be worth it in the end.

    Contests anyone???
    Friday, February 1, 2008
Tomorrow, What Have You is having its 3rd monthsary. Not surprisingly, KUYA JESSIE,the author, decided to celebrate this with a bash. Ever since he stumbled upon my blog and I, on the other hand decided to click his name on my cbox we have not only been fellow bloggers but good friends as well. I have learned quite a lot from this guy, hence I would call myself not just a frequent visitor or passerby but rather an avid fan so to speak. Incidentally, in lieu of the upcoming monthsary, he decided to hold several contests, I believe not only as a form of celebration, but more to promote interaction and good camaraderie among bloggers in the blogosphere. Think of it as a "rewards plus" program.

Quoted below are the mechanics of not one, not two, but T-H-R-E-E contests. Read below for more information about the contests.

Contest Number 1 – Top Commentators of the Month
This contest is easy to evaluate since the frequency of your comments is automatically counted using a plugin. The objectives include: to encourage readers to read and leave comments. The benefits: commentators will be assured of an increase in link popularity? Why? This blog is on “DoFollow”, meaning your links will surely be indexed by search engines like Google and Yahoo!, among others. This, in turn, will add to your link popularity and the fact that this is a PR4 blog, your future Page Rank will surely be affected. Call it link and PR sharing. How’s that for a start?
But wait, that’s not all. Hold your horses, folks. Remember Technorati? Whenever you leave a comment and that comment appears in my sidebar, Technorati will consider that as an added link to your account if you happen to chance Technorati’s update when you leave a comment. However, a maximum of two comments per post will only be considered for the day. So please, don’t leave more than 2 comments on just one post if you want your comment counts to increase. And guess what? At the end of the month, the winners’ comment counts will be posted and I will link back to your site as an added benefit. Five (5) participants will be chosen as winners at the end of each month. That’s not all. This is a continuing contest or should I say, bonus to you, dear readers. On December 25, 2008, the Top Commentator of the Year will receive, oh well, cash. How much? $10! That’s still something. If things get better, I might even increase this amount before Christmas day as a way of saying “Thank You” for leaving your comments. Only one winner will be chosen for the Top Commentator of the Year Award.

Contest Number 2 – Best Comments of the Month

The first contest is about numbers, quantity. For this one, I’ll give it a little twist. Let’s say, quality also counts. Hence, the same benefits can be derived from this (just like the first one). Also, the 5 Best Commentators will be featured in this site (with a link back to the winners, of course). Again, this is a continuing contest so I will be giving away $10 to one winner of the Best Commentator of the Year.

Contest Number 3 – Best Taggers of the Month

This my way of responding to tags/memes (which I almost always fail to accomplish due to work load). As a way to respond to tags/memes, I’ll count your tags/memes to me for the month then feature your site and tags. Again, five (5) best taggers will be chosen and featured on this blog every month. For the winner of the Best Tagger of the Year, he/she will receive another $10 on Christmas Day and a full-featured review of his/her site. Isn’t that wonderful?

    Just a few reminders:

The contests will officially start now (after posting this article)
I will visit immediately (when I’m online, the participants of the contests). This means you get an extra visitor in your site whenever you participate in any of the contests mentioned on a daily basis.
I will send the cash prices via Paypal on Christmas Day so better get your Paypal email addresses ready.
Cash prices may increase before contests end on December 25, 2008. A new set of contests will be initiated the following year which will be announced shortly after Christmas.
A winner in one contest may also win in the other two. Therefore, you can win as much as $30 on Christmas.
More contests will be announced tomorrow (February 2, 2008, the official 3rd month anniversary of this blog).
Please inform me through the shoutbox or leave a comment in any of my posts to signify your participation in the contests.

So what are you waiting for???Visit What Have You now!! You'll be surprised with what you'll learn. Start reading..and don't forget to comment!!

    About Me

    Name: RJ
    Home: Baguio City, Philippines
About Me: I'm pretty much normal and sane. Much like anybody I believe that each and every person is unique, with their strengths and weaknesses. Thus, everyone should be given a chance to prove themselves. I stand firm with my convictions, but that doesn't necessarily mean that nobody can prove me wrong, I have learned that one is entitled to his or her own opinion. Just the same, you won't usually see me standing in the sidelines waiting for somebody to prove a point. I guess this is the foremost reason why this blog was created... And so I leave it all up to you to read between the lines..and begin to know me with the way I express myself through my writings.. :)
