    Hidden In Plain View
    Friday, March 14, 2008
I just got this from my friendster and I honestly don't know who authored it...but i still think its a good read..

The most valuable secret of success is
that there is no secret. Success comes
not from seeking to uncover some
    exotic hidden formula, but rather
    through persistently following through
    on opportunities to create value.

The best shortcut to achievement is to
avoid looking for a shortcut. Simply
get busy and do the work required, for
that is the quickest way to reach the
    goal you've set.

The most effective way to handle what
must be done is to do it.
    Procrastinating, agonizing,
    complaining and avoiding will only
prolong the task and add greater
    difficulty to it.

Life is not always easy, and wishing
for things to be easier will usually
make them more difficult. The time-
tested strategy for making life truly
easier is to go ahead and work through
each challenge as it comes along.

By so doing, you grow stronger, more
    capable, more effective and more
    experienced. You put yourself in
position to live life on your own
    terms.

The route to success is no secret, and
is in fact hidden in plain view. Use
    every opportunity to make a
    difference, and you'll go precisely
    where you choose to go.

    Our You Tube Video..
    Saturday, March 8, 2008
This video was made by a friend--a former officemate who resigned to try his luck in Singapore. I am the proud trainor of this kid when He was just starting in our office. Sadly, due to reasons I choose not to disclose, He left the comfort of his home and our office.
To Atoy--thank you for being a good friend. Cheers Kiddo!...and Thank You for teaching me some things I never thought I could learn from you!

    Strawberry Festival...Marching In
Photo courtesy of Sun Star Baguio

After the "Baguio Flower Festival" or "Panagbenga" in Baguio City last February 2008, another festival comes marching in. The Municipality of La Trinidad, aside from being known as the "Salad Bowl of the Philippines", has also gained its distinction as the "Strawberry Capital of the Philippines". This could be attributed to the growing popularity of Benguet's strawberries. In lieu of this, La Trinidad shall be celebrating its annual "Strawberry Festival", which will kick-off on March 19, 2008.

However, I will be one of those who will surely miss the baking of the giant strawberry cake. For the information of everyone, La Trinidad is the Guinness Book of World Records holder for the largest fruit shortcake ever baked, measuring 8.75 feet in width, 12.3 feet in length and 8.4 feet in height. Apparently, according to Sun Star, during their interview with Mayor Artemio Galwan, La Trinidad will feature a video showing how the giant cake was made. This is to pay tribute to all those who participated in its success during the previous years.

While the "Strawberry Festival" has not yet gained its popularity, it is perceived that with the right amount of publicity, funding and of course proper management, the said festivity may also become as famous as the Baguio Flower Festival.

    Panagbenga 2008..The Float Parade
    Sunday, February 24, 2008
The "Panagbenga" is a much-awaited festival here in Baguio City. It is celebrated every February, for the whole month. The year 2008 is it's 13th year in existence. Tourists from all over the country, come up to Baguio just to watch the Street Dancing and Floral Float Parade. Just this morning, the float parade was scheduled to start at 8:00 a.m. Despite the rain, which amusingly, decided to pour on this day, the parade started right on schedule. While I could have traveled 7 kilometers from where I lived and braved the crowd forming in Session Road, one of Baguio's main streets, in anticipation for this event, I decided to stay home. I was not afforded the luxury of being given a press id(unlike before when a few friends of mine had connections to get hold of such), and neither was I a participant in the parade(I remember joining way back in college, I was wearing a black shirt and I had a Pitbull in tow--we were representing a pitbull club then). Glued in front of the television, I watched the crowd as they waited for the parade to start. Like any other event, like they say, come hell or hight water, in this case, come rain and slippery asphalt roads, the show must go on! And so it did!

I hope I could be able to post more pics..it's kinda hard to upload them all..just watch out for an update :)

    Why men are never depressed...
    Thursday, February 21, 2008
My inability to write anything serious at the moment for fear of having to stay in front of the computer for a long time will definitely prevent me from making any posts out of my own mind. In my effort to keep this blog alive, and maybe just to offer something to my readers, I will again be sharing something from my mailbox.

Women compared to men, seem to be in a depressive state every once in a while. Several instances include the monthly period, PMS (both pre and post) and whatever circumstance that may for one reason or another be a source of depression, very much unlike men who never seem to be depressed.

    Here are some reasons why:

    Men Are Just Happier People--
What do you expect from such simple creatures?
    Your last name stays put.
    The garage is all yours.
Wedding plans take care of themselves.
    Chocolate is just another snack.
    You can be President.
    You can never be pregnant.
You can wear a white T-shirt to a water park.
You can wear NO shirt to a water park.
Car mechanics tell you the truth.
    The world is your urinal.
You never have to drive to another gas station restroom
because this one is just too icky.
You don't have to stop and think of which way to turn a nut on a bolt.
    Same work, more pay.
    Wrinkles add character.
    Wedding dress $5000.
    Tux rental-$100.
People never stare at your chest when you're talking to them.
New shoes don't cut, blister, or mangle your feet.
    One mood all the time!
Phone conversations are over in 30 seconds flat.
    You know stuff about tanks.
A five-day vacation requires only one suitcase.
You can open all your own jars.
You get extra credit for the slightest act of thoughtfulness.
If someone forgets to invite you, he or she can still be your friend.
    Your underwear is $8.95 for a three-pack.
Three pairs of shoes are more than enough.
You almost never have strap problems in public.
You are unable to see wrinkles in your clothes.
Everything on your face stays its original color.
The same hairstyle lasts for years, maybe decades.
You only have to shave your face and neck.
You can play with toys all your life.
One wallet and one pair of shoes -- one color for all seasons.
You can wear shorts no matter how your legs look.
You can 'do' your nails with a pocket knife.
You have freedom of choice concerning growing a mustache.
You can do Christmas shopping for 25 relatives on December 24 in 25 minutes.

    No wonder men are happier.

    The most beautiful rainbow...
    Saturday, February 2, 2008

I found this in my email and I wanted to share it with everyone who wasn't in my address book...

As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to ever let you down probably will. You will have your heart broken probably more than once and it's harder every time. You'll break hearts too, so remember how it felt when yours was broken. You'll fight with your best friend. You'll blame a new love for things an old one did. You'll cry because time is passing too fast, and you'll eventually lose someone you love. So take too many pictures, laugh too much, and love like you've never been hurt because every sixty seconds you spend upset is a minute of happiness you'll never get back. Don't be afraid that your life will end, be afraid that it will never begin.

And don't forget that at the end of the rainbow is a pot of gold. Let's appreciate the colors of life..whatever color they are..they just might be worth it in the end.

What do you do when its your "Last Holiday"?
    Friday, November 30, 2007

I was watching "Last Holiday" earlier and it got me thinking...What do you do when you discover that you have only got three weeks to live?

"Last Holiday" is actually about a woman named Georgia Byrd working as a sales associate in the cookware section of a store in New Orleans. She was diagnosed with Lampington's disease and found out that she only had three weeks to live. And so with that she quit her job, got all her savings and went on holiday cruise at a place in Europe. My summary is a little understated so to speak because I wouldn't want to ruin the ending for anyone.

This past few years I look back and remember being a control freak. I still am sometimes. Always uptight, wanting to be on schedule, getting mad when things just don't go my way. I guess the environment I have grown up in is fast paced and being raised by my mom alone(my Dad was working in KSA), she wanted things in order. Well, I know the movie was released last year but frankly speaking it kind of got to me. Coz you see, it made me realize that sometimes having control is not assurance that everything would be in its rightful place all the time. I know it can help...but we can't control everything and somewhere along the way things can go wrong. Usually, control causes you to freak out and reach your saturation point. It could get me so stressed out, I worry about little glitches and sometimes bring it out on other people. (My Bad... I'm sorry.. :( )

And so with that, I have come to a realization that while its good to be ready for those "little glitches" and its nice to know that you have control over your life, wouldn't it be better to know that when you finally reach the end of the road you're happy and contented with the life that you've had??? Well, I'm not getting any younger but I won't go all pessimistic and say that I'm gonna die tomorrow..but the sad fact is when its your time ..its your time.. so i think I'm gonna try to live my life with a little more fun in it. Relax, have a nice time, live life one day at a time, give myself time to experience life in all its glory...

And like they say "don't sweat the small stuff"!!! :):):)

    how i wish...
    Sunday, November 25, 2007

How will you feel when we are the only ones left here?

......There would be no clouds anywhere here.

Every day filled from the sun

......In our arms we awake and wait..

As the shore and sun and ocean come to us.

....everyone shall always lust for the night and dark.

I would draw your deep dark eyes on my circle mirror,

..... just to see what you see..

I can lie and dream of your love as you please..

.....i can dream and lie about love.

    All these emotions of mine..

..... stopping me giving my life

    to a rainbow like you...

    Outside, Looking In
    Saturday, September 1, 2007
(an excerpt from a book i read)
    Day after day,
    I'm feeling kind of lonely.
    Day after day,
    It's him and him only.
    Something in his eyes
made my hopes start to rise.
    But he's a part of a world
    that doesn't include me.
    Nothing he says
    could ever delude me
    I'll never win,
this is how it's always been .
    I'm on the outside,looking in.

    Night after night,
    I'm saying a prayer.
    Night after night,
    that somebody will care
    Somebody to hear me,
    somebody to stay near me.
    But nothings to change,
    dreams can't deceive me.
    I'm all alone,
    You've got to believe me.
    I just can't win,
this is how it's always been.
I'm on the outside, looking in.

    About Me

    Name: RJ
    Home: Baguio City, Philippines
About Me: I'm pretty much normal and sane. Much like anybody I believe that each and every person is unique, with their strengths and weaknesses. Thus, everyone should be given a chance to prove themselves. I stand firm with my convictions, but that doesn't necessarily mean that nobody can prove me wrong, I have learned that one is entitled to his or her own opinion. Just the same, you won't usually see me standing in the sidelines waiting for somebody to prove a point. I guess this is the foremost reason why this blog was created... And so I leave it all up to you to read between the lines..and begin to know me with the way I express myself through my writings.. :)
